Anthony Lomuljo was born in Mountain View, California and trained at The Juilliard School, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes receiving his B.F.A. in 2010. At his time at Juilliard he’s worked and created with Sidra Bell, David Parker, Adam Houghland, Johannes Wieland and Azsure Barton, as well as performed in the works of José Limón, Mark Morris, Jerome Robbins and Crystal Pite. During his time at school, Lomuljo also performed with Sidra Bell Dance NY and Zhukov Dance Theater, in San Francisco.

Upon graduating in 2010, Lomuljo joined the GöteborgsOperans Balett also known Göteborgs Danskompani, under the direction of Johannes Öhman and later Adolphe Binder. Anthony took part in several creations with choreographers such as Fernando Melo, Stijn Celis, Lukáš Timulak, and Helena Franzén, and also performed works by Örjan Andersson, Johan Inger, Kenneth Kvarnström, Alexander Ekman, Mats Ek and Sasha Waltz.

In 2012, Lomuljo joined The Royal Swedish Ballet as a second-soloist, and has performed in both the classical and contemporary repertoire. That same year, Anthony was chosen by Mats Ek to play the title role of Romeo in his rendition of Julia och Romeo winning an Olivier Award for “New Dance Production Prize” in 2015. Other creations Lomuljo has been involved in include pieces by Stijn Celis, Emanuel Gat, Johan Inger, Örjan Andersson, Alexander Ekman, and has performed the works of Crystal Pite’s The Other You, in which he had the previllage to perform for the Nobel Prize Banquet Dinner in 2014, Sharon Eyal’s BILL, Mats Ek’s Svansjön, Sasha Waltz’s Körper and Wim Vandekeybus PUUR. In 2014 Lomuljo was promoted to first-soloist.

Anthony Lomuljo started guesting and began to freelance in 2016, working with Sasha Waltz & Guest performing Körper on tour as well as being a part of the creation of the opening of Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg entitled Figure Humaine. Later that year, Anthony had the honor to perform and tour with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch performing Sacre de Printemps (The Rite of Spring) both in Wuppteral, Germany as well on tour in Hong Kong, China. He continues to guest perform with both companies til this day. Anthony has been acting in the shortfilm Skuggdjur (2017) by Jerry Carlsson that is a dance narrative drama about a young girl witnessing adult behavior at a dinner party. He also appeared in a music video by musical artist Cazzette feat. Laleh, entitled Blue Sky and modeled for NoNationality07, for its magazine Lisbon issue and Spring and Summer collection’s lookbook.

Recently, Anthony Lomuljo has become a part-time faculty with Kungliga Svenska Balettskolan teaching both the classical and modern divisions. He continues to guest teach for dance companies as well as give workshops, both at a collegiate and professional levels around Sweden and the USA. In addtion, Lomuljo has been a part of many projects, such as OPTOfile_touch, performing the work of Crystal Pite as well of creation of Ode for St.Cecilia’s day with Confidencen’s Opera and Music Festival choreographed by Satoshi Kudo. He is currently in process with with Charlotte Englekes, depliciting the Opera Lohengrin Dreams by Wagner pemiering in Umeå at Norrlandsoperan.

This year, Anthony was given the opportunity to develop more as a choreographer by Marie Larsson-Sturdy, director of Dans I Nord. In May of 2019 he was asked to create a duet with Jerome Marchand, dancer of The Royal Swedish ballet, titled Blocking Light whiched premiered in April of 2019. Later, it was converted into a virtual reality film that was co-directed and produced with Robert & Robert Productions. Continuing his artistic growth, Anthony will have his world premiere and perform his solo work, titled My longest companion which is a relfection about regret and how we manage this feeling for life. Both works will be having its premiere for DANSFESTEN, which will than be the start of the ”Beyond Words Tour 4” traveling to 14 different cities around Sweden.
